January 28, 2022 — Can you relate?! 🤪 And how many good, fun friends does this new design bring to mind, especially in the lead-up to Valentine’s?
Because it so hits home, it’s one of my all-time favorites, inspired by longtime friend and cardie Kaija Donahue. A born storyteller, Kaija was coaching Cardthartic on how to get with the program and be better at posting on social media one day when she and I both made the exact same silly comment at the same time. Without skipping a beat, Kaija said in her great, deadpan way, “Same kind of crazy.” Cracked Us All Up!
One thing’s for sure, a crazy love of cards runs deep in this community. Our most prolific contributing cardie, Mary Morini, early-on introduced herself by saying, “I’ve been a happy card addict for years. And while it may sound dramatic, my life changed the day I walked into my favorite card shop and laid eyes on a Cardthartic fixture. Reading each and every card, I felt that someone had somehow read my mind, skillfully enhanced my words, and printed them on a card.”
Cardie Camille Annotti once confided, “I must send more than 150 cards a year … and from whomever has received a Cardthartic card from me, I seem to get a phone call or a note saying, ‘That was the cutest, kindest, loveliest, cleverest, most thoughtful, funniest, etc. etc’ Always in the superlative.”
A year ago now, Barb Penny told us, “Since the pandemic began, I have sent a card each week to some of my closest friends, just to keep their spirits up. I mail the cards on Friday so that they arrive on or about Monday, so the week begins on a cheerful note. In fact, one of the friends told me that she now actually looks forward to Mondays!” (Talk about crazy! 🙃)
After receiving her copy of the Big Book, Cardie Claire Bergad teased, “I’m going to have to start managing my money better because this catalog is going to ruin me!”😉
This oft-repeated quote from Cardie Carolyn Reinertsen feels so true: “Until I found Cardthartic, I didn’t really know there were others like me who thrive on taking the time to find just the right card in which to write just the right note to friends and family to let them know we’re thinking about them and wishing them well … I’m glad to know there are many of us doing our part to knit together a loving net of supportive connection.”
Crazy, isn’t it, how we all found each other here and are, together, leaving our stamp on the world?! Enjoy your weekend and maybe make a point of connecting with a same-kind-of-crazy friend or two!

LOVE THAT CARD. A little bit of imperfections, crazy and unpredictability makes life fun.
My favorite lines on this topic is from a song is
“You may be right
I may be crazy
Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you’re looking for” ~ Billy Joel
Carolyn, I really relate to your comments! It has meant so much to me that I can find just the right card at just the right time.
I’ve always been a card/ note sender. And so often thoughts of someone tip toe across my ❤️ and I know I’m being nudged to send them a card.
I think of it as a message from above to send them love.
Love u all Cardies! 🦋❤️.
I, too, send out well over 100 cards a year. I always have. In a normal month, it is maybe 6 to 8, But at the holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, and Mothers Day, it is actually out of hand. Lol I love writing personal notes also. I buy stamps in bulk. Happy I found your company on Facebook. Thanks, Susie Watson
I agree with everything in your post! My friends always looked forward to my cards and I worked hard to find the best one! Your cards are my go to first cards always. Ever since I first found them. Unfortunately no one even close to me sells them so I rely on your web site constantly. They’re especially perfect for symphony cards, unfortunately.. But they’re so dear. Love all the occasions for your cards!
One of my favorite cards ever! In these hectic time I can send this card to someone who shares “my crazy” and not need to spend pages enumerating all. This photo says it! BTW I think I had that exact doll growing up. Anyone else??
