Aug 9, 2023 — Last week’s spectacular supermoon inspired us to make this tender Meanings of Life card Buy-One-Get-One for the next week so you’ll have it in time to receive and send before the super blue moon August 30th.

Given that this supermoon will be as close as ever to Earth — just 222,043 miles away — it seemed a beautiful display of synchronicity that the card says moon-gazing can help us feel closer to loved ones. Promising to be the closest, biggest, and brightest full supermoon of the year, the next time such a sight will occur is in 2037.

I wrote the moon card’s message with my dad in mind … when he was still alive and kicking around his backyard in Naples, Florida, and there was a night sky he wanted to be sure I’d see, he’d call me in Chicago where I was surrounded by city lights. I’d answer the phone and get about as far as, “Hi, Da,” before hearing his beaming, “How about that moon?!”

It never grew old to either of us, marveling about how it was possible that we were separated by thousands of miles yet, when we looked up, we felt we were standing side-by-side.

It was your Fairy Cardmother who proposed that, to any Cardie who purchases the moon card for someone they love, we should send a second moon card along FREE to keep. (She’s a sentimental one, your Fairy Cardmother!) If you’re feeling fortunate to love many people that you’d like to connect with through this design, the BOGO will apply to the purchase of as many moon cards as you’d like, just use promo code: MOON at checkout.

Last week from my long-cherished box of 365 Gathered Thoughts, I pulled the following quote by American writer and philosopher Robert Brault. I now keep the little card front and center on my desk, have read it many times since, and share it with you here.
