March 29, 2023 — So ya know how — between Hallmark and social media — there seems to be a holiday celebrating literally everything? Well who knew there was a Little Red Wagon Day and today is that day?!
Our Little Red Wagon card became a Cardie favorite a full decade before the holiday was declared in 2017, the same year Dot Coltrane was pulled into our Cardie Community by the Little Red Wagon. We thought it would be fun to share Dot’s story!
“As I was placing my first order online in August of 2017,” she wrote us, “I noticed on the website your invitation to Share Your Story. This is mine.
“I discovered Cardthartic when we moved from Atlanta, GA, to Birmingham, AL. We visited a Wild Birds Unlimited to properly equip our small yard for new feathered friends and found that, in addition to bird feeders, seed, suet and birdbaths, this store offered Cardthartic cards. As a longtime Cardie and ‘real mail holdout,’ I started to stock up each time we were in the store. Later, I found a much wider selection online and started ordering here.
“Father’s Day weekend 2017, my older brother and sister-in-law, who live in a rural area of North Carolina, watched their house burn to the ground after it had been struck by lightning. Luckily, they were across the road at their daughter’s house having an early Father’s Day dinner. My brother is 86 and my sister-in-law is 81, so this event was devastating (it would be at any age, but they had lived in this house for nearly 40 years). Living several hours away and feeling helpless, I started sending them a different card every week, sometimes with a little package of ‘goodies.’ I would always find the perfect message of encouragement in a Cardthartic card.
“I like to think each card I mail has lifted their spirits, and I plan to send more. One, in particular, the Little Red Wagon card, is in an order I just placed today. Thank you for providing words and pictures on cards that help me express love and support for family members who mean the world to me.”
We have enough support & encouragement designs to fill a wagon … off ya go! 🤗

The little red wagon is the perfect symbol of the love and support which we all count on from our family & friends. The wagon remains a treasured possession from generation to generation. I see it as the best gift for a child. The wagon will carry them and their “precious” items wherever the next adventure takes them. Just keep rolling along ;)
How horrifying for Dot’s brother & sister-in-law but such a blessing that they were ok. I can imagine how each card comforted them. A young woman in our church is recovering from a brain aneurysm. She’s a miracle, really, that she survived. I’ve been sending her cardthartic cards regularly & she made a point to thank me for them.
