November 12, 2021 — Cardies, what if we together start a lovely new Thanksgiving tradition that we could call Grateful Gatherings.
Here’s what I’m thinking … over the four-day Thanksgiving holiday, invite a small group of kindred spirits over to reconnect while writing Bless the Helpers cards together. A Grateful Gathering! We’ll have a little something to sip and nibble on, everyone gets comfortable, and out come the notecards and pens.
We’ll each write our own notes of gratitude to the helpers in our lives, those unsung heroes who might not receive many thanks or recognition otherwise. While we’re writing, I imagine us also sharing stories of the goodness and kind acts that prompt us to acknowledge the people we have in mind. By hearing tales of the quiet ways people have been there and done for us, our little grateful gatherings should leave us feeling like our proverbial cups are running over. ’Know what I mean?
I plan to do this thanks-giving with beach buddies sitting by the sea, and our CEO Ana in Denver says she’ll do her grateful gathering with her two daughters “and such a head-spinning variety of desserts, I can’t wait!”
Easy for Ana and me to say, we plan to have a big supply of Bless the Helpers notecards on hand. And we’re thinking that — because you’re first-rate helpers in spreading the love not the virus — Cardthartic could defray the cost of you hosting your own grateful gatherings …
When you purchase three or more of our 55 boxed note designs, you’ll see one in your cart will be FREE ($12 value) through next Friday, November 19th.
You’d think that, by now, I’d know better than to bury the lead! But I sense you’re never here for the FREE, cardies. Unless we’re talking about the love you pour so freely into all those thoughtful cards you send.
We are blessed to have so many to be grateful for, eh!?! Bless the Helpers! And happy gathering. 💌

What a beautiful idea! A few years ago I started my own different sort of loving through gratitude. I’m not a huge fan of Christmas cards (it seems if most people are going to take time to send a card – Christmas is one of the few occasions they will faithfully do it). So, I don’t send many actual Christmas cards, but rather send notes of thanks and appreciation to those who have impacted or are impacting my life. It may seem a mix of holidays, but the feedback I’ve received from recipients is very warm. So, perhaps if a “grateful gathering” cannot be put together Thanksgiving weekend – know the opportunity still abounds in the season of love and connection.
Fantastic idea Jodee, & so needed in these divisive times. I recently ordered a box of thank you cards because I learned that our church had no one to send thank you notes to those who send a memorial gift. By asking the question I got myself a new job! As a devoted cardie, it’s one I’m happy to do. Thanks for always inspiring us to go to the next level.
Greetings Jodee. Sometimes we become so busy in our own lives, we neglect to reach out to others. I applaude your idea, and am going to get on it…right away. I know several people in our church who drive people places, help with grocery shopping, just sit and LISTEN. I think that too often we are so buried in our own lives, we fail to acknowledge the needs of others. Thanks for the reminder. We can certainly strive to say THANKS a zillion to all those who have paid it forward for us.
