FEB 20, 2020 – Thinking “there’s no such thing as too much of a good thing” :) we’ve made 24 Cardie-favorite card designs into art prints. And they’re gorgeous.

We’ve heard from many of you over the years saying you frame our cards, so we thought, hey, more to frame, more to love! At $20 each, all are 8×10″ shipped in a clear cello bag with backing to keep them in perfect condition until they reach your walls, shelves, or are given as gifts. Our printer did such a great job of replicating the artists’ rich colors on lush recycled paper — much more beautiful when you’re holding them than they appear here — so they’re just very cool.

Art prints were introduced in January 2020, and very quickly the cardinal was perched at the top of top-sellers. Seeing the popularity of that cheerful little guy reminded us of an email from Cardie Amy Beamer Murray we’ve held on to since 2017. “A favorite card of mine is the Meanings of Life cardinal,” she wrote. “Before my dad passed away, I had never heard the story of how cardinals represent our loved ones who have passed. The winter after my dad died, my backyard feeders were filled with cardinals — and my sister told me the story.

“Ever since then,” Amy explained, “when someone loses a loved one, I send that card about three months later as part of what I call ‘after care.’ After the funeral has long since passed, and the phone calls are fewer and farther between, and there hasn’t been a sign of a floral arrangement or casserole in weeks ~ but the burden of grief is still so heavy that you can physically feel it ~ that’s when I send the cardinal card.”

That wonderful wordsmith wrote us again recently to say that she’d “shared cardinal art prints with my sister and sister-in-law.” If you purchase our art prints, we’d love to hear who you’re giving them to and the sweet reasons for your giving (especially if the intended recipient is You). Now all that’s left to do is hold a good thought that backyards in the north soon spring to great, green life and lots of cardinals come calling!
