July 25, 2023 — The ever-timely message above was penned in a note I received from college roommate Laura Cendejas back in the ‘80s. It was one of those “keepers” like we all have tucked away to read again over the years, though at the time I could not have imagined I would one day create a card company and ask my old friend if we might publish her so-true words.
“In a world so full of change …” Cardthartic has a few changes coming up that we thought we’d share with you today.
Price Increase 🙁
We know you understand that the world over is feeling the pinch, but we’d really hoped to not have to raise prices. Paper costs alone have more than tripled since the pandemic, though, and our last price increase was — get this! — 2014. Sorry to say, it’s time.
That said, it may take up to a year before you see the new price appear on all our products. The way price changes work in this industry is that the new price is applied only when it comes time for a design to be reprinted.
Sooner or later, you’ll find all products priced as follows:
Cards – $4.25
Magnets – $5
Boxed Notes – $14
MiniCards – $2
Holiday Close-out ❤️
Alas, there is just not enough demand for our holiday cards to continue making them. Of course that’s good news for any Cardie who loves these designs! They’re now 30% Off — only $2.45 each — while they last, with a cut-off of Labor Day. This goes for ALL holidays.
And for some good news! 👏
We will begin releasing new product more often. While the industry standard has always been “three times a year,” times they are a’changing! So you’ll now see new designs from us every couple of months, with a half-dozen new Passages just a few weeks away.
As the card says, “In a world so full of change, I’m thankful one thing is constant … our friendship.” Here’s to that! Onward & upward.

As far as your price increase, I’ve long thought it time for a price increase, especially with all the extra things you do for and send to your cardies. You and your fabulous team rock.
