“I love to send cards because it makes me feel that I have stepped into the recipient’s world and that I am right beside them. And they feel that connection, too! After sending the Meanings of Life porch swings card to a friend, she said, ‘When I got your card, I felt I was sitting on that porch swing with you!’
“I first discovered Cardthartic in our local Wild Birds Unlimited store in nearby Savannah (Georgia). While shopping there for our birds, I saw the fixture of Cardthartic cards and it was the beginning of a whole new hopeful interaction with people! In fact, my favorite card is the Meanings of Life Cardinal. It is such a vision of hope.
“When I read in the Cardie Newsletter that Hannlis was turning 97 (Nov 4, 2020), I sent her a card in which I’d written, ‘May your birthday mark the start of a year filled with harmony, laughter and love!’ Soon after, I received an email from Cardie Community Manager Felicia saying the creative team thought my message was so touching that it needed to be made into a card! And, although I wrote it as a birthday, they thought it had the makings of a wedding design!
“I said they were most welcome to use my words and also shared one of my favorite quotes, Winston Churchill’s ‘Words are the only things that last forever.’ My words became a card I am very excited about, Passages wedding card 94024. My husband and I decided to dedicate the card to Harry Palmer, a deceased Korean vet. He was a great guy and loved to spread laughter to others. When I learned I would be sent a $50 honorarium for use of my message, I asked that it be sent to the Franciscan Food Pantry on 31st Street in New York City.
“We love how the Cardies spread comfort and joy around the world with Cardthartic cards. It is an honor to be one of you!”

Hi Teresa! Jan from Virginia Beach. Love your messages and just wanted to let you know. When my husband and I travel, one of my favorite things to do is to look at unusual cards! I think you can always find a Cardthartic card to express the perfect feeling ! It was nice to be able to read about an “author” of some of the beautiful “emotions” inside those cards. My husband was in Vietnam in 1967 – frog man (UDT). He has since come down with multiple myeloma presumably caused by his exposure to Agent Orange. He was diagnosed in 2011, a week before our daughter was married !!! When he was diagnosed, all the googled information we could find led us to believe he would only have 3 years left. And, I’m happy and thankful to say that he’s still by my side and we have taken many wonderful trips together since then. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts. Jan Eaton
