We love opportunities to learn and grow, so are thrilled to have Dr. Cardoni on our side! On the rare occasions a typo has slipped through on a Cardie Newsletter, Agnes was the first to spot them and kindly alert us so we could immediately correct them.
“I can’t help myself,” she says. “I taught English in high school and at universities for 50 years! One of those 50 I was a Visiting Teaching Associate in Rhetoric right there at University of Illinois. Loved my time there. I lived not very far from Cardthartic’s Fulfillment Center!”
A godsend as an editor and proofreader, Agnes explains, “I learned over time to read with ‘soft eyes,’ especially when I read students’ papers. Re-writes were always invited.
“I loved teaching and have been retired since 2019,” she says. “I keep busy reading and writing and especially SENDING CARDS to friends and family. As you know, there’s so much pain in the world, and it only takes a minute to select a card and send it on its way. I LOVE your cards and can always find one appropriate to any occasion.”
Agnes counts as one of her favorites the Meanings of Life design that inside reads ‘all is well’ and features a sprig of lavender. “I must have sent it a dozen times. Right now we have a dear friend who is undergoing a glioblastoma (brain tumor). Your encouragement cards help me keep his and his wife’s spirits up. I also like the ‘Oy’ card that reads, ‘It IS always one thing after another.’ Please know that you and your perfect cards are deeply appreciated.”
