It’s so fun that Donna lives in the same town as our Fulfillment Center: Champaign, Illinois. Back in October of 2023, she introduced herself by email, saying, “I’m so glad my husband happened to find a Cardthartic card, and our connection to Cardthartic has grown from there! You’ve created a wonderful community — thank you!”

We loved that she was willing to “Introduce Yourself” so we could feature her here among fellow Cardies. “Aren’t headshots humbling experiences?!” she quipped when she submitted hers. “Mine was for me! 🤦‍♀️ But Cardthartic inspired me to have it taken … I had to laugh, ‘You definitely have a way with words!’

“I’m in my 8th decade,” Donna explained, “and a lot of technology frustrates the heck out of me. While I have begrudgingly admitted that some technology is extremely convenient, your use of it has taken my appreciation to a whole different level. Your team clearly knows how to use it well to create wonderful cards and communications.

“The Cardie Newsletter is one of my favorite ‘kindness treats,’” Donna explained. “Long ago I realized that ‘what I pay attention to, is what I get.’ In other words, when I affirm blessings in my life, more blessings flow in. The Cardie Newsletter is one of those blessings. It is an email I look forward to and I read. (Not true of many, many other emails.) A thought I like to project into the cosmos is ‘Let goodness prevail.’”

Such a wise and witty woman, Donna believes, “Word choice makes a big difference 😊 and Cardthartic’s words are great! Just last night I read something about using words that tickled me. In The Heartbeat of Trees by Peter Wohlleben, in the chapter titled The Language of the Forest, he quoted George Monviot as saying, ‘If Moses had promised the Israelites a land not where milk and honey, but the secretions of mammals and the vomit of insects flowed, would anyone have followed him?

“Your messages touch many, many people,” Donna proclaimed, “in such a good way. I have such appreciation for the countless messages conveyed in your cards, always just the right words. Don’t know how you do all that you do, but I am grateful that I got in on the action!”
