When my mother passed away in November of 2004, I received card #33003 that reads “Knowing this time would come … makes it no less difficult” from my boss and his wife. The moment I opened it, I fell in love with that card, and knew immediately that I had to obtain one for myself to have on hand for the future. I looked on the card back and saw that home base for Cardthartic is Champaign/Urbana, Illinois, where my son was attending school at the time.

I immediately ordered 200 of #33003. When my boss’s wife’s mother died several years ago, I sent it to her — the very same card she had given me in 2004 — and she immediately called me to say how much she loved the card. I laughed and told her it was the same card she had sent to me when my mom had died and that I had loved it so much at that time that I bought a supply. She was amazed. Well, it is now 2019, and I am giving my last card from that first batch to the family of a precious friend at her funeral tomorrow. And I have ordered 50 more. It’s been gratifying to hear the response, “That is, without a doubt, the most beautiful card I have ever seen. I love it.”
