A longtime Cardthartic follower, Mary read a Cardie Newsletter in July of 2015 and graciously emailed our founder to say how much she enjoyed our cards and stories. The retired HR exec closed that e by writing, “Blessings come in many forms, Jodee. Thank you for being one of mine.”
Thinking, “That’s a card!” Jodee replied with her thanks, along with the request to publish Mary’s blessings message (sans the Jodee part :) In that same e, she asked Mary if she might like to dedicate the new card and, if so, to whom. With surprise and delight, Mary quickly replied, “Yes to publishing what I said to you! What a surprise. I’m thrilled. I feel like I’ve won the lottery or an honorary degree or bingo back in second grade! Yes, thank you!” Five minutes later, in popped a second email from Mary. “In my happy haste,” she said, “I neglected to include that I’d like to dedicate the card to my husband Larry. Thank you so much again.” Reading this, Jodee thought, who says, ‘In my happy haste?’ I love this clever Cardie!”
After Mary’s “blessings” message was published — and she saw her words printed on a Cardthartic card — she was happily hooked! Although she insisted, “I’m no writer! I just love your cards!” we wholeheartedly encouraged her to share more. Mary’s next card message was gleaned from the eulogy she wrote for her beloved late sister-in-law Loretta Girard:
“Hardest to lose is someone
who really showed us how to live.”
While we did not have the good fortune of knowing Loretta, she must surely have been amazing to be so loved and admired by one of the kindest, wisest, most witty, and well-spoken people we’ve ever met. Her thoughtfulness alone makes her a natural!
Mary may not have set out to have her wonderful words published on cards, but — lucky Cardies everywhere — she now has many to her name, many top-sellers. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about this most eloquent and prolific woman, there will be more cards from Mary Morini! ❤️

What a delight to learn the “backstory” of these cards and sentiments. I’ve often marveled at how the words on these cards so perfectly express my feelings. Thank you, Mary, for your gift to us all.
I agree with my “twin”, Donna (in 2021). Just read through Mary’s story and realized I’ve used several of her cards, several times – especially the prayer list and the “forever blessed”. Your words capture what’s in my heart, so that I can share with those I love. Thank you, Mary!
I am so impressed with your cards and with the personal touch of your company. What a great way to honor Mary ‘s sister by contributing to a needy cause. When my father died long ago in the nineties, the son of one of his neighbors sent my mother a beautiful card and note. On the back of the card it said Passages, a segment of Cardthartic, Inc. The concept /Writer was Bernie Pitzel and it cost $2.00! So, for many years it has been with my sympathy cards where it always reminds me of daddy. Some years ago, I searched for the Cardthartic company, found you and am a frequent customer.
Best wishes for 2024!
